The Purpose of the Exodus Houses Program (EH)

Is to help individuals become productive members of society.  The goal is to encourage each person to reflect upon their previous lifestyle with a mindset that will motivate them to make appropriate positive changes within themselves and to provide the tools and support structure needed to reinforce those changes.   The EH provides solutions to these issues by concentrating on a three-pronged holistic cure; Spiritual, Economic, and Domestic Empowerment. Through concepts used to get a person in touch with his spiritual self, while incorporating entrepreneurial skills training in the ‘healing process’, one is able to leave the program with the ability to provide meaningful income for self and family and a solid spiritual foundation. This three-pronged approach dramatically reduces the chance for that individual to once again become a negative statistic. This concept is considered a holistic approach when it is incorporated with skills development.  The individual receives reinforcement on the spiritual and physical level thereby dramatically increasing the opportunity to live a financially secure and substance free life. 

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Shared Living Program

Exodus Houses (EH) offers a full range of mental health services and programs for adults at its Greater New Orleans locations.

Located in New Orleans, EH Share Living offers comprehensive, individualized support for severely mentally ill within a Recovery oriented model. The opportunity for personal growth and independence remains the clear objective for our residents as they work towards achieving their personal goals.

Care in EH programs is delivered by a multidisciplinary team which may include psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, licensed mental health counselors, certified substance abuse counselors, art and expressive therapists, vocational rehabilitation counselors and other professionals, depending upon the needs of clients.  

• EH’s mission is to equip individuals with the skills necessary for them to attain their highest level of functioning.
• EH offer varying opportunities depending on the type and severity of illness, prognosis, and length of stay.
